Ajang Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2021 kembali digelar. Pameran otomotif terbesar di Asia Tenggara, GIIAS 2021 ini akan berlangsung mulai 11-21 November 2021 bertempat di Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang Selatan, Banten.
Sejumlah agen tunggal pemegang merk (ATPM) dipastikan akan terlibat dalam GIIAS 2021 ini, di antaranya Audi, BMW, Daihatsu, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, KIA, Mazda, MG, Mini, Mitsubishi Motors, Suzuki, Toyota, VW hinga Wuling.
Acara ini dapat dikunjungi oleh masyarakat dan untuk mendukung kelancaran acara, GIIAS akan mengedepankan protokol kesehatan ketat. Salah satunya pengunjung wajib men-download GIIAS Autot360 untuk pembelian tiket dan juga untuk tes drive juga ride. Aplikasi ini bisa diunduh melalui AppStore dan Google PlayStore secara gratis.
Dalam aplikasi GIIAS Auto360 pun terdapat tiga segmen utama. Pengunjung bisa menyaksikan pameran secara virtual, kemudian terdapat juga marketplace khusus produk otomotoif, platform berita hingga informasi industri otomotif.
GIIAS sendiri sebenarnya memulai sejarahnya pada tahun 1986 dengan nama Gaikindo Car Exhibition kemudian pada 2006 pameran ini resmi menjadi pameran otomotif berskala internasional dan berganti nama menjadi Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Kemudian sejak 2015 pameran ini dipisah dari IIMS dan digelar setiap tahunnya di Indonesia Convention Exhibition, Tangerang Selatan, juga di beberapa tempat seperti Surabaya, Medan, dan Makassar. Pada tahun 2015 ini juga nama pameran resmi menjadi GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) dengan mengambil venue di Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD.
Kesuksesan GIIAS dalam menyelenggarakan ajang pameran otomotif terbesar di Indonesia, menjadikan GIIAS akhirnya mendapatkan dukungan penuh dari OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles). Menjadikan GIIAS sebagai salah satu rangkaian series pameran otomotif yang diakui di dunia bersama NAIAS Detroit Auto Show, IAA Frankfurt Auto Show, Geneva Motor Show, Auto China Beijing, dan Tokyo Motor Show.
